always willing to learn.
My 16 year old took on the task yesterday of teaching me Rhetorical Strategies (literary devices). It was neat to see her get all excited at teaching me something I didn't understand and that she did. Its been 24 years since I was in high school and I don't even remember learning most of the stuff then. So it's kind of fun. And it will help with my writing to learn knew ways of saying things. She assigned me two things to study. Both are by John Steinbeck. And she is expecting me to study these stories and find all the things she marked. It's actully kind of cool. I am learning another way to see a story and to write. I like the learning and she is being patient and speaking so I understand her. I'm grateful for that. It's going to be fun and she is excited about it also and said she was going to tell her teacher about teaching me. One of the most important things about being a writer is being willing to learn all the time. I can't grow as a writer if I don't learn and grow. I want to be better. Although I did make a girl cry when she read my book. Cool huh.
