No long nails here.
Ok so I started typing the story onto the computer. I am enjoying that process also. It is kind of cool to take the rough copy and make it better. I did find I type much better with clipped nails. They were beginning to grow out and I made a lot of mistakes with the typing so today I clipped them off. much eaiser to type. I guess I was ment to be a writer for another reason. I can't grow out my nails to long they just brake off or chip. Perfect then huh. Now I have seen some women who can go to town on the key board when they have really long nails. Not me though I need them short, well I guess that is just my fate to always have short nails.

I think it's done
I think the hand written book is done, I can't think of anything else to say. But now it is time to start typing it on the computer and I am sure I will think of something to say after I do that. But for now I will just leave the ending alone and add to the beginning to give more character depth. I like it I could feel the character come alive as I wrote. That is the thing for me when I write I begin to feel the characters then I know I have a story. If I don't then I delete it and start again.

Now my arm is sore.
So like I said before I decided to write a book with a note book and pencil. I have filled one and half bound notebooks so far. And I've gone through 4 pencils. Today I realized my arm was sore. It really does physically hurt from writing so much. I didn't realize that would happen, I thought maybe my hand would get tired but my arm all the way to my shoulder is sore. Weird huh. But I am loving doing this. And I still have at least one more chapter to go maybe two if I can stretch it to that without taking away from the story or adding unimportant stuff. We will see. For now I am just writing and will fix it later on the computer.
Still at it at 2:00 am
You know your a writer when you are in the middle of a story and you don't want to go to bed so you can continue to write. I spent most of my day yesterday writing and was up until 2:00 am still at it. The story gets going in my head and I can't shut it off. And sometimes I don't want too either. I've gone through three pencils now. But my 10 year old likes the short ones so she can have them. It's kind of fun writing by hand. But the desire to put it on the computer now is so strong and pulling at me. But I am holding out for the hand written completed books. I started the second bound book but I don't think I will fill it all up I can tell the story is drawing to a close. So I will do my best to make it as long as I can. I just write until the story ends and then I stop how ever long it ends up being isn't really up to me.

No computer this time
I decided to write a book by hand. It is going well, bought a bound book and just started I filled the first one up and am on the second one now. I want to finish the entire thing before I put it in the computer, just to see if I can do it without giving up. It's kind of cool to be able to take my writing with me everywhere I go. There are a few draw backs to writing this way. I go through erasers very fast, and pencils too. The worst is when I get a pencil with the led broken inside. I just wanted to see if I could do it, and so far I am. It's kind of fun too. It will be interesting to see how many notebooks it takes to finish the book and how many pages it actully ends up being on the computer when I'm done.

What editors are for.
So yesterday my big sister who is my greatest cheerleader read my blog. She thought it was very cool but also because I am a writer I should pay more attention to my spelling. Not a great speller, but isn't that what spell check is for and in a book that's what editor's are for right. It was kind of funny and made me laugh but of course she is right, I do need to pay better attention to what I write. Sometimes I just get to writing and forget to check the spelling, grammar, punctuation and anything else that needs correction. And when I do use spell check sometimes it is even wrong. So again thats what editors are for. I love mine she is tough but really good.

write to the light.
I watched the story of Thomas Kinkade the painter the other night and was amazed. His mentor was Glen Wesman the painter who I guess was quite famous. Thomas was having trouble finding his nitch I guess you can call it. but Glen told him to "paint the light" that he had the light in him and he just needed to find it and paint it. I would love to "write the light". meaning I've been thinking about what he told him. I would love to have my writing affect people the way Thomas Kinkade's paintings do. when I look at his work I feel alive and filled with warmth and even love. I want my writing to make people feel things. I want to bring out emotions and thought with my writing, I want the reader to feel what I felt as I wrote whether it was laughter, sadness, joy or anger I want to write to the light and share the emotions through my words. just one writers dream. I am inspired by Thomas Kinkade and his story. Thank you for finding the light.

write it all down.
When I tell people that I am a writer and just got my first novel published they tell me that they've often thought of being a writer. I say just write it down. If you have a thought or idea for a story write it down. who knows what will develop it could be a best seller someday. even if I never publish another book at least I can say I've gotten a book published. I was talking to a friend one day and telling her that it seemed strange to me when people say they can't write. that evening she told her husband about my thoughts and a couple of days latter he approched and said he wanted to tell me something. When he was a kid his teacher asked the class to write about what had happened the night before when the town was enveloped in the Cloumbis Day storm. when he turned his paper in with two words on it. "Nothing Happened" He stated to me that this is proof that not everyone can write. He made me laugh. I am of the theory that if you write it all down some how you will have a story idea. I just can't imagin not being able to write a story, it just seems strange that everyone can't do it. But I guess not everyone can. We have all been given different talents and this is the one I was given, and now it is my job to develop and share it. A job I am excited to do.

old school
I wanted to see if I could write with out the computer. So I started a notebook and am doing a story in there with a pencil. it's a little harder, i have to guess on spelling, and grammer, and even on some words if they work. It's different but I kind of like it, now I can take my story with me when I go somewhere. When it's full I will type it up and fill in the details. talk to my editor yesterday and she has sent the book back to me and edited the query letter to the publishers. I think I will try for another publisher just to see if having one published helps get the next one published. If it takes too long of a time I will just send it to PublishAmerica again. Well I guess thats all for now.

Made it to Amazon
I found out yesterday that my book is on Amazon now yea, I'm excited about it. Now I just have to get as many people as I can to order it so the publisher sees it's worth it and gets it out there. The more I sell the more money I make. But I think the most important thing is to get it out in the public eye, where people order it and spread the word.
